A JUMP OF JOY - SHADES OF ORANGE

Jumping for Joy is to be extremely happy in that moment. Do not dwell on the past do not dream of the future concentrate the mind on the present moment. (Buddha).
Did you know that the color orange is related to the sacral chakra which supports your ability to feel joyful creative and energetic.
I taught yoga that morning, so I suppose that my sacral chakra was highly stimulated cause all I wanted to do was to jump. Maybe it was because by the vast amount of orange pieces of clothing which I am wearing.
I suppose from my much continuous study of yoga and the chakra I do believe that the colors of clothing we wear have a deeper connected part to our feelings and emotions.
Which color do you wear that you think response or connected to a deeper part of yourself?
Today I choose the spirited color of orange.
Here is an affirmation for you which response to the sacral chakra
I love my life
I am a creature of joy and light
I honor my body and treat myself respectably
I trust my feeling and give them room for expression
I receive pleasure and abundance with every breath that I take.
I am grateful of the joy of being me.
Goodness, beauty and joy resonate in my soul.
Rest and play help keeps me healthy.
I embrace my sensuality and sexuality
I am joyful, spontaneous and creative
I go with the flow with ease and grace.

PROJECT RUNWAY BEFORE HEIDI KLUM (sort of) STRIPES + PLAID

I have had a love affair with fashion ever since I can remember. Like any passionate relationship, it called for sacrifices. Therefore, at 17 I decided to leave my fatherland St Lucia and move to London to pursue my dreams.

I have to say, getting used to the English weather was not easy, but working for renowned Joseph certainly smothered the experience. I stayed in London for 10 years, but it was only when I moved to Holland when fashion and I started procreating, that is: making clothes. It does not come as surprise that it coincided with the birth of my daughter.

Let me just say I thought sewing at home would be easier than shopping out with my little girl… It was not.  Before I gave up, I made a pair of trousers. They are not perfect but remind me of the beautiful time and also the fact that I am not the technical mind.

What about you? Do you have any fashion pieces that you made by yourself?

SPORTY CHIC - UNDRESSED

Outfit details from the top:

OK winter, I’m done with you. A rose beanie/hat, which, as you probably know by now, I love love love. Hats make you look more sophisticated and, as opposed to the usual fashion magic makers are actually useful: they keep the head warm. Also, they’re the women’s version of the girly “Bad Hair Day” beanies. A woman can’t be ALWAYS bothered to brush her hair!

The chunky, heavy beige maxi vest is like a cardigan coat. This piece is classic, it will never go out of style; I can wear it at home as well as outdoors.

Now let’s take a look at the Mickey Mouse top, my daughter likes it a lot and so do I. Gorgeous blue, isn’t it?

The legging was a purchase from H & M collaboration with Versace. The quality is great, feels good against the skin. It is not a legging that I can wear once every blue moon. The colors are so vibrant.

The scarf/blanket was an investment, but it was worth every penny (and effort: I actually had to pay in installments!). I love big scarves and it’s a perfect shade of purple - I can combine with almost anything in my wardrobe.

The ankle boots are booties from Cracow. I purchased them on my last visit. I like to wear or add masculine accents to my outfit. Those are so comfortable, and again - can be worn with many pieces of clothing I already owe.

Jewelry, well I am a ringmaster. I like wearing rings, they are part of my everyday style, the more the merrier!. It is like the advert “Red bull gives you wings”; well my advert for rings is that they give you inspiration, especially when I doing something creative.

The Earrings was a present from a friend. The sunnies are oldies from Prada and I wear them practically all the time, winter into summer, only when the sun shines its pretty head.

I am wearing a new shade of lipstick today. Most times I am wearing red, but hey, why not discover something new?

A DAY OF MY LIFE - YELLOW WITH CREAM TONES

On that day, I taught my usual yoga lesson; My eyes are bit tired; dark shadows visible and so are late nights. Ok, Ermine, get yourself together. The blog needs update. Let’s do it.

The yellow coat adds an extra shine to the otherwise awfully grey morning. I wore two cream cardigan to give my body extra heat and I am still wearing the t-shirt that I wore from my yoga lesson. Sweaty!

The printed cotton pants is a winter purchase but I will definitely rock it throughout the summer.

I am wearing some malas too. After all, I have just taught a yoga lesson reciting all the ohm mantras. To be fair, malas on my wrist is an everyday style for me anyways. You know me, the wrists just can’t be empty. The merrier, the better.

Finally, a gold touch on my feet to keep me shining throughout the day. I was wearing

FLOWERS AND ROMANCE - SORBET COLOURS IN THE WOODS

A flower cannot blossom without sunshine and man cannot live without love while
romance is the glamour which turns into dust  of everyday life into golden haze.

This shoot was done on Valentine’s Day but it was purely coincidence. I wanted to draw the line between flowers and romance, like drawing the line between love and hate, but I guess these two are completely different. That aside, flowers are given as romantic gestures, if you were to be given red roses to a loved one, it is projected as loving this person or just saying “I love You”. When you buy flowers for yourself I guess it just means you love having flowers in your home… I certainly do. I am obsessed with it’s beauty.
I would not say I was romantic, but I like the atmospheric of going out to dinner at a restaurant, when the lights are low and soft with beautifully played music in the background.
What is romance? Romance is showing that you care, but do you need a special occasion to show or do something romantic? There are intrinsic romance e.g. things that are inherently romantic like hearts. Red is romantic, it’s been associated with love and passion. Chocolates are not only romantic, they are complementary.
Back to flowers and romance. Flowers are gorgeous and if you look deeply into them, they are amazing and mesmerizing.  I love freshly cut flowers and I can just photograph them all the time, it is like looking into their soul. Flowers and Romance, they do go hand in hand as both intriguing and endangered: roses enfold and blossom, then dissipate. Romance unfolds blossom but you need to work to keep it alive.
I wore soft gentle tones for this shoot. Red on the Valentines, to me, is too cliche, but it’s very personal. I can’t wait to hear your Valentine stories and share ideas on outfits and romantic attires!
